Our History
Formerly known as Seychelles Savings Bank, SCB has a rich history dating back to 1981 when it was established under the Seychelles Savings Bank Act (Chapter 208). In 1992, it became a limited liability company with majority shares owned by the Government of Seychelles. The Bank obtained a license to conduct "Domestic Banking Business" in 1997 under the Financial Institution Act (Cap 79), and during the same year, it took over the housing loan portfolio of Mortgage Finance Company Limited. In 2013, the Bank underwent a name change and became known as Seychelles Commercial Bank. With its roots deeply embedded in the Seychelles financial landscape, the bank presently conducts full commercial banking under the Financial Institution Act of 2004.
