Honoring Our Roots: The Story of Ton Karl

The history of our La Digue beachfront hotel is deeply rooted in the remarkable life of Karl St Ange and his beloved family. Born on La Digue in 1919, Karl, affectionately known as "Ton Karl," worked alongside his parents as coconut farmers and later expanded their business with patchouli distilleries and vanilla plantations. His entrepreneurial spirit and vision shaped La Digue's destiny and led him to establish "Cabanes des Anges," a unique and authentic beachfront hotel that continues to offer memorable experiences to modern-day travelers.
